Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager drives business results by working collaboratively with the President to manage and implement strategies for business growth, and executing the objectives of the company in line with organizational goals for sustaining and growing both profit and revenue. Leads both Inside Sales and Manufacturer Representatives to drive profitable sales expansion and enhances the company’s strategic decisions by providing key market intelligence based on interactions with clients, prospects, and other market players.
The position reports to the firm’s President and will have close contact with the CEO:
Complex and technical sales of both systems and consumables
Strong business development background
Develops comprehensive business development plans that identify and prioritize the most attractive opportunities to leverage current and emerging company business.
North American travel and participation at industry trade shows
Drives acquisitions of new customers
Presenting to and negotiating with Engineers, Engineering Groups, and large OEMs
Establishes quotas and targets for the team; while managing team performance
Collaboration with the executive team and field associates.
Work closely with Inside Sales and Marketing as well as Manufacturers Representatives
Strategic Agility, Driving Execution, Influencing, Change Management, Presentations
Four Year Degree, Technical Discipline or MBA preferred
10+ years of proven sales background
Familiarity and success in identifying, courting, and closing technical sales
Understanding of, and experience with working with Distributors
Understanding of, and experience with working with Manufacturer Representatives
Flexible & versatile - we are a small company with a lot of “hands on”
